The Cascadia Bioregion (Also referred to as the Pacific Northwest Bioregion) encompasses all of the state of Washington, and portions of Oregon, Idaho, California, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Alaska, Yukon, and British Columbia, and includes the associated ocean and seas and their ecosystems out to the continental slope. The name Cascadia has been used for decades (possibly longer) to describe this area, citing the similarities in social, economic, political and ecological motivations in its inhabitants – similarities that are likely more due to environmental location than current political boundaries. There is a slew of interesting history associated with this movement and its worth reading if you’re curious. For now, we’ll celebrate the beautiful place we call home with this shirt.
